Back in the day, still have the original bag from back when. Great stuff made of wood pulp lol It's better than the old fashioned organic cotton that had fibres going every which way that santa wears around his gob. Certainly back in 2014/15 when Keith started stocking it as were'nt cotton options like there is nowadays. It's much more durable in say a Kayfun @low watts. I shall buy another meter and give it another try, at a £1 for plenty no way you can go wrong.
Rayon is a great wicking material for all, especially beginners wanting to start working with Rebuildables.

The long strands make Rayon a great wicking material allowing it to wick liquids effectively, even high to full VG (Vegetable Glycerine).
It's also somewhat easier to work with due to the long strands, as it does not fall to pieces like cotton when you thin it with a tool.
If you do decide to try using Rayon, you will have to remember to use more through the coil or coils than cotton.
Due to the fact that it shrinks when wet, then you'll end up losing flavour and have a lot of popping and spitting occuring.
And for some naysayers who are adverse to the idea of using Rayon due to possible toxicity, please remember that Organic Cotton uses chemicals for farming.
Only downside is that Rayon is available in 1m lengths and my wicking skills need refinement, at least it keeps me busy and I love trying to get my Digiflavor Pharoah Mini to work in TC at the higher end of 0.6 ohms. As it's just flavour for days, shame they're hard to find due to not being produced anymore.
An adventure worth taking

After wicking with cotton for years, I decided to search about for alternatives, for experimental purposes.
I had been researching awhile, and found out about Rayon, it's like cotton, but better, unless you're using it at high wattage, which can cause it to shrivel up or even melt. (At least, in my Vandy Vape Alien coils)
Flavour with Rayon is exceptional, clouds are more voluminous, and lifespan is greater, both in coils and wicking. Changing flavours is quicker too, cycling takes far less time.
I've not noticed this "rayon taste" people talk of, but damn, those dry hits are evil, you'll be coughing for an hour.
I recommend it highly, but if you want something dry hit-proof, try Silica wicking. The experience is similar.
